Baseball Recap: North Baltimore Comes Up Short

North Baltimore was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 8-7 to the McComb Panthers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-7 on Monday.

Cooper Clark spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered seven earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Gavin Sesok stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs. Another player making a difference was Drew Meggit, who went 3-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

North Baltimore's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for McComb, they pushed their record up to 11-9-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, North Baltimore will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Elgin at 5:00 p.m. McComb will be paying especially close attention to the Tigers' game: after the Tigers face off against the Comets, they'll take on McComb again at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
