Softball Recap: Dupo Tigers vs. Steeleville Warriors
Dupo extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 4-8 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Steeleville Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-3 on Tuesday.
Addison Thompson was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. Thompson was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Adrienne Latimer was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run. Kaitlyn Roberts was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
As for Steeleville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games.
