Recap: Saint Stephen's Episcopal Falcons vs. Parrish Community Bulls
After flying high against the Oasis Christian Lions last Saturday, the Saint Stephen's Episcopal Falcons came back down to earth. Saint Stephen's Episcopal took a 58-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Parrish Community on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Saint Stephen's Episcopal can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 649th, while Parrish Community is ranked 256th).
When it comes to explaining why Saint Stephen's Episcopal lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nick Yatros. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Walters, who scored five points along with 13 rebounds.
Parrish Community got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dylan Higgins out in front who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Malakai Cuffy was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Saint Stephen's Episcopal has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Parrish Community, they pushed their record up to 15-6 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Saint Stephen's Episcopal won't have much time to rest: their next match is against American Collegiate Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Averaging 58.6 so far this season, American Collegiate Academy's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Saint Stephen's Episcopal better be ready for a challenge. As for Parrish Community, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Booker at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Booker will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
