Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Trinity Christian waltzed into their contest on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They blew past the Fort Worth Christian Cardinals 79-47. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 347th, while the Cardinals are ranked 1215th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Trinity Christian to victory were Jet Naegele and Lucai Anderson. Naegele went 6 of 9 from beyond the arc on his way to 28 points in addition to six boards and three steals, while Anderson went 7 for 14 en route to 23 points and three steals. Anderson's evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zavian Willis, who posted 11 points and six rebounds.

Trinity Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Trinity Christian has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a massive bump to their 18-12 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.4 points per game. As for Fort Worth Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-21.
