Softball Recap: South Fulton Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

South Fulton had lost five games straight , but after bumping their record up to 7-13-1 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against the Lake County Falcons by a score of 14-10. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Red Devils considering their one-run performance the match before.

Alli McFarland was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlisle Lusk, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: South Fulton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.2.

As for Lake County, they dropped their record down to 5-14 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road. Even though they lost, their still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.1 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

On Lake County's side, Laken Chism and Kaitlin Jones did some serious damage despite the final result: Chism went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI, while Jones went 3-for-4 with two runs. Gentri Beal was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs.

As of now, neither South Fulton nor Lake County have any future games scheduled.
