Preview: Whitman-Hanson Regional vs. Duxbury
Whitman-Hanson Regional had trouble last Friday, and unfortunately for them, their opponent this week is a big step up in difficulty. On Friday they take on Duxbury at 7:00 PM. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against Whitman-Hanson Regional, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
Whitman-Hanson Regional came up short against Hingham, falling 13-22. Whitman-Hanson Regional got a solid performance out of senior Ethan Phelps, who picked up 54 yards on the ground and accumulated 122 passing yards; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Duxbury beat Plymouth North 12-6.
Duxbury's win lifted them to 3-0 while Whitman-Hanson Regional's defeat dropped them down to 2-1. In their win, Duxbury relied heavily on senior John Roberts, who picked up 65 yards on the ground and accumulated 108 passing yards. Whitman-Hanson Regional will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
