It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact King's Academy can now relate to. They fell just short of the Salinas Cowboys by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their 13-game winning streak.

Katia Nesper spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in 18 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, King's Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Woo, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

King's Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 22-8. As for Salinas, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-8.

As of now, neither King's Academy nor the Cowboys have any future games scheduled.
