Basketball Recap: Kylie Deboard and Makenzie Browning Secure Win for Tug Valley

While Tug Valley didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the WestSide Renegades 59-34 on Monday. That looming 59-34 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Panthers yet this season.

Leading Tug Valley to victory were Makenzie Browning and Kylie DeBoard. Browning went 8 of 16 en route to 17 points and four steals, while DeBoard posted 15 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Browning is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Haven Deskins, who posted ten points and five steals.

Tug Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Tug Valley's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for WestSide, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Tug Valley Panthers face off against the Summers County Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. WestSide will take on Wyoming East in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wyoming East has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests.
