Volleyball Recap: St. Joseph Academy Find Success

St. Joseph Academy won the last time they faced Independence and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Jaguars walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Blue Devils. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Jaguars.

While St. Joseph Academy might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Independence scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 22-25, 25-22, 25-23.

Independence lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Julia Jurkiewicz, who had 22 assists and nine digs. Jurkiewicz is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 13 every time she's taken the court this season.

The win got St. Joseph Academy back to even at 7-7. As for Independence, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-2.

Looking ahead, St. Joseph Academy will welcome Perrysburg at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Independence, they will head out to face off against Richmond Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
