Volleyball Recap: Diamond Bar Takes a Loss

Diamond Bar and Marlborough squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Diamond Bar had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-13, 22-25, 25-19.

Despite the loss, Diamond Bar still got an impressive performance from Ava Furumoto, who had ten digs and one assist. Furumoto has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 11 times she's played.

Diamond Bar's defeat dropped their record down to 23-9. As for Marlborough, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-15 record this season.

Diamond Bar does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marlborough, after both having extra time off, they and La Canada will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
