Softball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Milwaukee Reagan

Milwaukee Reagan had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They put the hurt on the St. Thomas More Cavaliers with a sharp 10-1 win. This was payback for the Huskies, who suffered a 9-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Larissa Michalak spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Zaida Nelson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Curry, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Milwaukee Reagan's victory bumped their record up to 18-6. As for St. Thomas More, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Coincidentally, Milwaukee Reagan and St. Thomas More will both be playing Greendale the next time they take the field. The Huskies will host the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Cavaliers will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
