Softball Game Preview: Randolph Ghosts vs. Spaulding Crimson Tide

Randolph hasn't had much luck against Spaulding recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Ghosts will host the Crimson Tide at 4:30 p.m. Randolph is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12 runs per game this season.

Randolph took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past White River Valley 14-2. The high-scoring effort was just what the Ghosts needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Ella Messier made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Messier was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Randolph got a massive performance out of Lillian Small, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, five RBI, and one run. Those triples were Small's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Alaina Cornell, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Meanwhile, Spaulding got themselves on the board against Randolph, but Randolph never followed suit. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over the Ghosts. The victory continues a trend for the Crimson Tide in their matchups with the Ghosts: they've now won three in a row.

Randolph's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Spaulding, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
