Basketball Recap: Flanagan-Cornell Takes a Loss

Flanagan-Cornell lost against Deer Creek-Mackinaw back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Flanagan-Cornell Falcons fell 62-49 to the Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs.

When it comes to explaining why Flanagan-Cornell lost, don't look at Seth Jones. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-14 en route to 17 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Jones' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Connor Reed, who posted 11 points in addition to six boards and three blocks.

Flanagan-Cornell dropped their record down to 14-16 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Deer Creek-Mackinaw, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-17.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Flanagan-Cornell will face off against Fisher at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Flanagan-Cornell is facing Fisher at the right time seeing as Fisher is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Deer Creek-Mackinaw, they will square off against Eureka at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Deer Creek-Mackinaw's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matchups.
