            Softball Preview: Riverside Vikings vs. Lakeland Chiefs        
        
		
        
        
            The Riverside Vikings will challenge the Lakeland Chiefs at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. Riverside is coming into the  contest on  a  four-game losing streak.
Last Wednesday, Riverside came up short against Dunmore  and fell  7-2.
 Riverside saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Clara Sandly, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.  Mackenzie Keller also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  double of the season.
Meanwhile, Lakeland didn't have quite enough to beat Dunmore on Friday and fell  4-3. The Chiefs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Kamri Naniewicz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 1-for-4 with one  home run and three  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Mick Eremo, who  scored a  run while going 3-for-4.
 Riverside's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Lakeland, they now  have a losing record of 4-5.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging  on Monday. Riverside hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season,  having  averaged 0.6  home runs per game. However, it's not like Lakeland struggles in that department as   they've been averaging  an even more impressive 0.6  home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
 Riverside was able to grind out a solid  win over Lakeland when the teams last played  back in April of 2023, winning  5-0. Will the Vikings repeat their success,  or do  the Chiefs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
