Softball Recap: Hudson Falls Comes Up Short

Hudson Falls fell victim to South Glens Falls and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-0. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly two runs.

This is the second loss in a row for Hudson Falls and nudges their season record down to 8-5. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only two runs. As for South Glens Falls, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Hudson Falls will host Whitehall at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Railroaders have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for South Glens Falls, they will venture away from home to square off against Saratoga Springs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Streaks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.27 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
