Baseball Game Preview: Hunterdon Central Red Devils vs. Bayonne Bees

The Hunterdon Central Red Devils will take on the Bayonne Bees at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Bayonne took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Hunterdon Central, who comes in off a win.

Hunterdon Central was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Vernon on Saturday. The Red Devils were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Vikings.

Meanwhile, Bayonne came up short against Manalapan on Saturday, falling 8-2.

Hunterdon Central has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Bayonne, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-8.

Hunterdon Central beat Bayonne 5-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Bees have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
