Basketball Recap: Lonoke Comes Up Short

Lonoke suffered their biggest defeat since December 13, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 78-54 to the Stuttgart Ricebirds. While losing is never fun, the Jackrabbits can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 184th, while the Ricebirds are ranked 50th).

Lonoke's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Stuttgart, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lonoke will host Forrest City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Forrest City knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Lonoke likes a good challenge. As for Stuttgart, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wynne at 7:00 p.m. on February 18th.
