Basketball Game Preview: Colleyville Heritage Panthers vs. Richland Royals

Colleyville Heritage and Richland are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. The Colleyville Heritage Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Richland Royals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Tuesday, Colleyville Heritage came up short against Birdville and fell 72-60. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Hawks are ranked 26th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Richland, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They took down Grapevine 60-46 on Tuesday.

Colleyville Heritage's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-12. As for Richland, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 12-12.

Colleyville Heritage took their victory against Richland in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 54-31. Does Colleyville Heritage have another victory up their sleeve, or will Richland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
