Volleyball Recap: North Star Extends Home Winning Streak to Four + How To Watch

North Star posted their closest win since October 31, 2024 on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Windber Ramblers. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Ramblers back in September, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was North Star who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 23-25, 25-18, 15-25, 17-15.

Their offense was headlined by Alyssa Kostyk and Brooke Cannin, who picked up 16 kills apiece. They got some help from Ella Hurley and her 34 assists. Alisha Yoder controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

North Star pushed their record up to 8-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Windber, they moved to 15-6-2 with that loss, which also ended their four-match winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Star will take on Richland at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Windber, they will face off against Everett at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
