Football Recap: Newton Falls Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Newton Falls's offense. They took a blow against the Liberty Leopards on Friday, falling 56-0. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 684th, while the Leopards are ranked 299th).

Chace Clonch threw for 54 yards on eight of 13 attempts. Robert Robison was his top target, picking up 42 receiving yards.

Newton Falls' loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Liberty, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Newton Falls is set to square off against their familiar foe Crestview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Clonch and Jake Noling. Meanwhile, Liberty will take on rival Garfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
