Volleyball Recap: Nevada Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

There's no place like home for Nevada, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They skirted past the Riverton Rams 2-1. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Rams walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Nevada had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-17, 25-17.

Nevada got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lauren Sloniker out in front who had five digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Sloniker a new career-high in assists (four). Halle Hawks also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Nevada pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. As for Riverton, their loss ended a 14-match streak of away wins and brought them to 20-3-1.

Nevada has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Claremore on the 27th. Hopefully Riverton paid attention to the Tigers' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
