Football Game Preview: Bledsoe County Warriors vs. Rhea County Golden Eagles

The Bledsoe County Warriors will face off against the Rhea County Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Bledsoe County is headed into the game having just posted their closest win since March 7th on Tuesday. They slipped by Silverdale Academy 13-12.

Bledsoe County found their leader in sophomore Lilianne Sherrell, who rushed for 91 yards and two scores on only eight carries, and also threw for 190 yards while completing 72.2% of her passes. The Warriors are 5-1 when Sherrell posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-6 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Rhea County was not able to break out of their rough patch on April 7th as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were dealt a 35-6 defeat at the hands of Warren County. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.

Bledsoe County's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Rhea County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Everything came up roses for Bledsoe County against Rhea County when the teams last played on April 1st, as the squad secured a 40-12 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
