The Tooele Buffaloes will square off against the Green Canyon Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Tooele might have lost, but man, Mavrik Chlarson was a machine: he picked up 122 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also punched in one rushing score. Kami Vaenuku was another key back, rushing for 91 yards and one TD.
Even if they lost, Tooele's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Green Canyon, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Bear River 35-0. The Wolves have beaten the Bears the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bears has come to flipping the script.
Tooele better keep an eye on Micah Jenkins. He was instrumental in Green Canyon's win, rushing for 211 yards and three scores while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Jenkins a new career-high.
Green Canyon's run defense was locked in: Bear River could only muster 2.5 yards per carry. While two picked up at least eight total tackles, Bryson Pabst stood above the rest. He made eight total tackles. Green Canyon's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 2.83 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 5.77 on average over their last five games.
Green Canyon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Bradley Scott, Sawyer Rainey, and Drage Briggs picked up one apiece.
Green Canyon now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Tooele, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
Tooele was dealt a bruising 42-13 loss at the hands of Green Canyon when the teams last played back in August of 2020. Can the Buffaloes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
