Basketball Game Preview: Denver South Ravens vs. George Washington Patriots

Having just played yesterday, the Denver South Ravens will head out on the road to face off against the George Washington Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Denver South took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 60-23 win over Manual.

Denver South found their leader in freshman Abriella Garcia, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 15 points and four steals. Those 15 points gave Garcia a new career-high. Cecelia Sheperd was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Meanwhile, everything went George Washington's way against Kennedy on Thursday as George Washington made off with a 54-31 victory. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Commanders recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

George Washington's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.2 points. As for Denver South, their win bumped their record up to 10-12.

Denver South lost to George Washington on the road by a decisive 64-47 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Denver South avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
