Softball Recap: Poly Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Poly put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Oak Hills Bulldogs. The Bears have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

Madyson Granillo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Honesty Romero, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 3-for-4. Romero is crushing it when it comes to home runs: she's launched at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

Poly hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most two strikeouts every time they've taken the field this season.

Poly's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Oak Hills, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Poly will square off against Murrieta Mesa at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Poly's pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so Murrieta Mesa's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Oak Hills, they will challenge Redlands East Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
