Baseball Recap: Miller Has No Trouble Against San Bernardino

Miller put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's fifth consecutive shutout on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the San Bernardino Cardinals. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won eight matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Ilya Ridge was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Miller is 6-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-7 otherwise. Ridge was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Nathan Lora was a standout: he scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Giovanni Aguilar, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Miller now has a winning record of 10-9. As for San Bernardino, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 6-3 record.

Miller will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cardinals: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
