Basketball Game Preview: Puxico Indians vs. Charleston Bluejays

The Puxico Indians will take on the Charleston Bluejays at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Wednesday, Puxico humbled Chaffee with a 67-37 victory. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th in Missouri, while the Red Devils are ranked 286th in Missouri), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Charleston had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 74-52 margin over the Eagles.

Puxico better focus on containing Trenez Lane and Treshaun Schandon as the pair were huge in Charleston's win. Lane almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine boards, while Schandon went 6-for-11 en route to 13 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Da'Kyrious Williams, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 13 points.

Charleston smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. They are 13-5 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Puxico's record now sits at 24-3. As for Charleston, their record is now 14-10.
