Volleyball Recap: Chugiak Wins High-Profile Matchup Against Homer

Chugiak faced Homer in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Mustangs came out on top against the Mariners by a score of 2-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Audrey Parks paced Chugiak's offense, picking up five kills. Parks got some help from Oliviya Rodriguez and her 11 assists. Catheryn Townsend controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Chugiak's win bumped their record up to 23-11-1. As for Homer, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-15-2.

Chugiak didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against West Valley on the 24th. As for Homer, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 1-1 draw against Colony on the 24th.
