Softball Recap: North Summit Braves vs. Judge Memorial Catholic Bulldogs
North Summit had lost six straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 2-17 to make it seven. They lost 13-3 to the Judge Memorial Catholic Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 29-7 back in March.
ASHLYN LEFLER was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one run. Those doubles marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was RAYLAN WOOLSEY, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
As for Judge Memorial Catholic, the win snapped their losing streak at nine games and leaves them with a 4-11 record. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 18th (when they won 29-7).
On Judge Memorial Catholic's side, Emma Terhaar was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave Terhaar a new career-high. Rylie Vigil was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Coming up, North Summit will face off against Ben Lomond at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Judge Memorial Catholic, they will challenge American Leadership Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
