Volleyball Game Preview: Saint Mary's Panthers vs. University Red Devils

The Saint Mary's Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the University Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Saint Mary's is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They blew past Cardinal Newman 3-0. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Saint Mary's never let Cardinal Newman on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-18, 25-20.

Meanwhile, University made easy work of Salesian College Preparatory on Wednesday and carried off a 3-0 victory.

The win didn't come easy: Salesian College Preparatory scored at least 20 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-20, 25-20.

University's victory bumped their record up to 23-4. As for Saint Mary's, their win bumped their record up to 24-8.

Saint Mary's came up short against University in their previous meeting back in October, falling 3-1. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
