Softball Recap: Ridgevue Warhawks vs. Mountain View Mavericks
Ridgevue had lost 14 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 0-19 to make it 15. They lost 13-0 to the Mountain View Mavericks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warhawks of the 15-8 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.
Ridgevue saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ainhoa Bow, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Bow's first of the season.
As for Mountain View, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by seven runs or more this season.
On Mountain View's side, they let Kaitlyn Van Winkle and Brooke Austin run wild. Van Winkle went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Austin went 2-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and one RBI. Those two triples gave Austin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tayelynn Puyleart, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
As of now, neither Ridgevue nor Mountain View have any future games scheduled.
