3A Sunset league recap: 4/3/13

Glide outperformed the rest of the league this week, as its two total wins led the league. The Wildcats beat Vale 17-1 and Burns 15-1.

Glide (9-1) has won six games in a row, 3A Sunset's longest active win streak.

Glide put just three batters on base with walks in the past week, but Bandon/Pacific's pitching staff has had the best control this season, surrendering a walk only four times in nine innings this year.

There were five hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. Leading the pack was Tanner Shaddy, who hit .800 by going 4-for-5.

Brenden Fricke drove in five runs for Glide over the past seven days. He has 19 RBIs this season, tops in the league.

Fricke was an RBI machine on Wednesday, as he knocked in four runs during the Wildcats' 17-1 win over the Vikings. He went 2-for-3 and scored two runs.

Fricke was the star of Glide's 0-13 win over the Hilanders this week, as he completed a cycle and finished with four hits.
