Softball Recap: St. James Comes Up Short

St. James was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against the Berwick Panthers, falling 17-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-2 two weeks ago.

St. James saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tierney Zenon, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave Zenon a new career-high.

St. James' loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Berwick, they pushed their record up to 9-10 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as St. James Wildcats challenge Covenant Christian Academy Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Berwick, they will host Teurlings Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Teurlings Catholic has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.05 runs per game on average), something Berwick will no doubt try to take advantage of.
