Baseball Recap: Marianna Find Success

While Marianna's victory against Leon wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs had just enough and edged out the Lions 4-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Cody Byrd was a standout: he got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Marianna: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 8-10 otherwise. Landon Attaway was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Marianna's record is now 13-11. As for Leon, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-13.

Coming up, Marianna will head out to square off against Chipley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Leon, they will face off against Chiles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Timberwolves' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
