Basketball Preview: Edisto Cougars vs. Ridgeland-Hardeeville Jaguars
Edisto is 0-4 against the Jaguars since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Edisto Cougars will look to defend their home court against the Ridgeland-Hardeeville Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Edisto lost to the Hurricanes at home by a decisive 41-27 margin. Edisto has struggled against the Hurricanes recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Chyna Myers, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Ridgeland-Hardeeville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a 56-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hampton County.
Edisto's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-10. As for Ridgeland-Hardeeville, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
Edisto came up short against the Jaguars in their previous meeting back in January, falling 48-35. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Ridgeland-Hardeeville's Jaden Exley, who scored 21 points along with four steals. Now that Edisto knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
