Basketball Game Preview: Celebration Storm vs. Osceola Kowboys

Celebration is 0-10 against Osceola since January of 2016 but things could change on Wednesday. The Celebration Storm will face off against the Osceola Kowboys at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Celebration is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Friday. They were dealt a 58-29 defeat at the hands of St. Cloud. The match marked the Storm's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Edson Oliveira Da Silva, who posted ten points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicholas Edouard, who put up six points and nine rebounds.

Osceola has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 73-68 heartbreaker at the hands of The First Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (55), the Kowboys still had to take the loss.

The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Luke Mccrimon and Max Simmons. Simmons had a great game on Monday and had 18 points and four steals. Meanwhile, Mccrimon did his best for the losing side, almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine boards.

Osceola's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-3. As for Celebration, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Celebration has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Osceola struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.

Celebration was dealt a bruising 80-25 loss at the hands of Osceola when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Celebration avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
