Basketball Recap: Northeastern Piles Up the Points Against Winchester Community

Northeastern hadn't done well against Winchester Community recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Northeastern Knights took their matchup with ease, bagging a 59-30 win over the Winchester Community Golden Falcons. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Northeastern's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ava Mikesell led the charge by going 5 for 11 en route to 11 points in addition to eight assists and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Adysson Kircher, who posted 16 points and three steals.

Northeastern smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Northeastern's victory bumped their record up to 21-1. As for Winchester Community, they dropped their record down to 8-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Northeastern will face off against Cambridge City Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Winchester Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
