For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Hudson and Nacogdoches meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again  on Friday. The Hudson Hornets narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  team sidled past the Nacogdoches Dragons  9-7. This was payback for the Hornets, who suffered  a  7-5  defeat the last time these two teams met.
 Aidan Bonacci was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in five of his three plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  John Penn, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Hudson was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .529. They are  a perfect 4-0 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Hudson's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Nacogdoches, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record  this season.
 Hudson will head out on the road to  take on  Northside Falcons HomeSchool  at 7:39  p.m.  on Tuesday. The last four games Hudson has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Nacogdoches, they will look to defend their home field  on Tuesday against Marshall  at 7:00  p.m.
