Football Recap: Haskell Indians vs. Petrolia Pirates
Haskell was the 22-19 winner over Petrolia when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians took a 36-20 bruising from the Pirates on Friday. While the Indians had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Pirates 12-8.
Despite the loss, Haskell still got an impressive performance from Haegen Pinkerton, who rushed for 113 yards and one score on only six carries.
Petrolia was led to victory by Brodie Jackson and Kason Gee. Jackson gained 169 total yards and two touchdowns, while Gee rushed for 96 yards and one TD. Jackson also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making five total tackles.
This is the second loss in a row for Haskell and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for Petrolia, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
