Basketball Recap: Bear Creek Takes a Loss

After flying high against Stagg last Wednesday, Bear Creek came back down to earth. The Bear Creek Bruins fell to the St. Mary's Rams 55-49. The Bruins haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite the loss, Bear Creek still got an impressive performance from Joell Chet, who posted 15 points. The dominant performance gave Chet a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Timmy Da, who scored nine points.

St. Mary's got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayden Hinkston out in front who earned 14 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonah Millonida, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 10 points and four steals.

Bear Creek's loss dropped their record down to 16-11. As for St. Mary's, their win bumped their record up to 12-13.

Coming up, Bear Creek will head out on the road to face off against Chavez at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bear Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.9 points per game this season. St. Mary's has already played their next game (against Kimball), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
