Basketball Game Preview: Garfield-Palouse Vikings vs. Asotin Panthers

Garfield-Palouse is 0-7 against Asotin since December of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Garfield-Palouse Vikings will challenge the Asotin Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Asotin is hoping to do what Colton couldn't on Saturday: put an end to Garfield-Palouse's winning streak, which now stands at five games. Garfield-Palouse claimed a resounding 55-22 victory over Colton. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 363rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

While Asotin didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past River View 51-30 on Saturday.

Garfield-Palouse's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38.3 points. As for Asotin, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.

Garfield-Palouse came up short against Asotin in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 58-53. Can Garfield-Palouse avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
