Xavier Carpenter posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Friday. He struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
