If Northside Christian Academy was riding high fresh off their 74-47 takedown of Northwood Academy two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. 2025 welcomed the Northside Christian Academy Crusaders with a 64-42 loss courtesy of the Pinewood Prep Panthers on Saturday. The Crusaders' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sam Burks, who posted five points and four steals. Burks has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Cade McNeill, who earned ten points.

Pinewood Prep found their leader in sophomore Kais Parris, who put up 14 points along with eight assists and eight boards. Parris also posted five blocks, which is notable because Pinewood Prep is 9-2 when he posts at least three blocks, but 2-3 otherwise. Tre Green was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 13 boards.

Northside Christian Academy's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2. As for Pinewood Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Northside Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 104-73 defeat against Augusta Christian on the 7th. As for Pinewood Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-35 win against Laurence Manning Academy on the 7th.
