Basketball Game Preview: Modesto Panthers vs. Gregori Jaguars

Modesto is 0-10 against Gregori since January of 2020 but things could change on Friday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Modesto Panthers duke it out with the Gregori Jaguars at 7:30 p.m.

Modesto is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 20th straight game on Wednesday. They took a blow against Pitman, falling 79-42. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1069th, while the Pride are ranked 145th).

Meanwhile, Gregori strolled past Downey with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 67-50. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Jaguars.

Gregori is also on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.9 points per game. As for Modesto, their loss dropped their record down to 2-21.
