Basketball Recap: Del Valle Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked Eastlake

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Eastwood, Del Valle was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Eastlake Falcons by a score of 52-40. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Conquistadores' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 622nd, while the Falcons are ranked 211th).

Tristan Anderson-Edmond and Braeden Quigley certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Anderson-Edmond posted 17 points and five assists, while Quigley dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Del Valle has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Eastlake, they moved to 10-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Del Valle will take on Horizon in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastlake and Socorro will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastlake is facing Socorro at the right time seeing as Socorro is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
