Byron Nelson put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the V.R. Eaton Eagles with a sharp 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-17, 25-17.

Byron Nelson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Savannah Sterna, who had ten digs and two aces. That's the most aces Sterna has posted over her last six contests. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Francis, who had ten digs.

Despite the loss, V.R. Eaton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ariana Gomez had 13 assists and six digs. Gomez is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Byron Nelson's win bumped their record up to 34-0. As for V.R. Eaton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 21-15.

Byron Nelson and V.R. Eaton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Bobcat (ranked first) will meet Northwest (ranked 41st) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, V.R. Eaton will challenge Trinity at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (45 vs. 442).
