Volleyball Recap: Hickman Takes a Loss

Hickman was the 3-0 winner over Battle when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Kewpies lost 3-0 to the Spartans on Thursday.

Kaylie Brinkley paced Hickman's offense, picking up ten kills. Brinkley got some help from Jaiden Moore and her 13 assists. Lily Sipe controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Battle's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Olivia Marriott, who had 13 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Marriott has posted since back in September. Tristn Zellner-Evers was another key player, getting 15 assists and three digs.

Hickman has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-16-3 record this season. As for Battle, they now have a winning record of 16-15-2.

Hickman does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Battle, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Grain Valley on the 25th.
