Football Recap: East Forsyth Broncos vs. Benedictine Cadets
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact East Forsyth can now relate to. They were beaten by the Benedictine Cadets 42-7 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Cadets are ranked 23rd).
Chase Rhoads threw for 61 yards on five of 15 attempts. Jace Forrest was his top target, picking up 41 receiving yards. On the ground, Jackson Norman rushed for 116 yards.
Eron Mallard went supernova For Benedictine., picking up 101 receiving yards and two TDs. Mallard is on a roll when it comes to receiving touchdowns, as he's now hauled in two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Joshua Washington did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 86 receiving yards.
East Forsyth's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Benedictine, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2.
East Forsyth does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Benedictine, they will challenge Cass at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
