Volleyball Game Preview: Lathrop Spartans vs. Beyer Patriots + How To Watch

Lathrop has won five straight games at home, while Beyer has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Spartans will welcome the Patriots at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lathrop won the last time they faced Central Valley and Sariah Hilton did her part to make sure it happened again. The Spartans put the hurt on the Hawks with a sharp 3-0 victory on Monday with plenty of help from Hilton, who had seven aces and one block. She has been hot recently, having posted six or more aces the last three times she's played.

Lathrop's got stronger as the match went on, holding Central Valley to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-15, 25-13.

Meanwhile, Beyer had just enough and edged out Ceres 3-2 on Monday.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (107-102) Beyer actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 25-22, 13-25, 25-21, 24-26, 15-13.

Lathrop's win bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Beyer, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.

Lathrop took their win against Beyer in their previous matchup back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
