The Lincolnview Lancers will take on the Columbus Grove Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Lincolnview is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Bluffton just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 3-2. While the Lancers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Pirates 25-19 in the first set.
Lincolnview took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-17, 20-25, 25-21, 15-10.
Meanwhile, Columbus Grove got the win against Lima Central Catholic on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Thunderbirds recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Columbus Grove was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-12, 25-20.
Columbus Grove found their leader in freshman Hadley Bonifas, who had 11 digs.
Columbus Grove was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 13 consecutive contests.
Columbus Grove now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Lincolnview, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.
Lincolnview took their win against Columbus Grove in their previous matchup back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
